Outreach

Held at Durham University, we wish to inspire KS3 girls in County Durham schools to be the next generation of scientists! It is a fun day for everyone involved, with a range of talks, panels and demonstrations.

Celebrate Science
A week-long event on the Palace Green Durham during the October half term. Families can spend the day engaging with science, arts and crafts and experiments. You will find me at the astrophysics and cosmology stall, giving interactive demonstrations about gravitational lensing, universe creation and planetarium talks.

Great North Nights
Space themed exhibitions and talks aimed at the general public after hours in the Hancock Museum. We provided a fly through tour of the EAGLE simulations, exploring the large scale structure of dark matter.
Planetarium
The planetarium is an inflatable dome which can travel to schools to bring the night sky into the classroom. We provide 30 to 40-minute talks about the night sky and our solar system. The content of the talk is adapted for all ages and knowledge levels.
